Maui Ocean Center Aquarium - reviews

Often referred to as “The Hawaiian Aquarium,” the Maui Ocean Center offers visitors a unique glimpse into the life beyond our island shores.

An average visit to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium lasts approximately 1-2 hours, so boredom is rarely an issue. Even the youngest of your group will find smiles around every corner –– I recall my own, then two-year old daughter being delighted not only by the underwater glass tunnel through their 750,000 gallon aquarium (complete with over 2,000 fish and sharks), but also by the gradual decent of the carpeted floors that lead visitors smoothly from the shore-break, into the shallow reef, then down into the Deep Ocean. My daughter managed to pick up impressive speed on some of the ramps, and would busy herself going back and forth while the rest of us enjoyed some of the more detailed exhibits.

The Maui Ocean Center is one of the few activities on Maui that is recommended for, and enjoyed by, ALL AGES.It is wheelchair accessible and child friendly. Throughout the aquarium you’ll find interactive displays, outdoor touch pools and unique exhibits that help visitors develop an understanding and appreciation of the unique nature of Hawai‘i’s marine environment in an enjoyable and safe setting.
