One word: Sunscreen! If you are renting snorkeling gear for your kids, have a plan to get them out of the water frequently to reapply their sunscreen. The cool water will not protect them (in fact it tends to magnify the rays) and they’ll be complaining for days due to the angry red burns on their backs and calves.
